The Effects of the Wildfires out West

   We of those in Minnesota are feeling some of the effects of the Forest Fires their having out West and in Canada. We are hundreds of miles from these disasters going on. There is an Air Quality Alert for the state. being out side for any length of time will make feel like you have a small choking effect and coughing. 

For the weekend they are predicting the smoke problem will only be come greater as the wind change and will be blowing in more smoke. Currently we can smell like a combination between the flavor of burning wood from a campfire and that Yuk of a heap of garbage being burned. 

I can only imagine how bad the air is for those much closer to these events.

I truly hope the West gets the rain they need to help quench the fires. 

 

New Computer!

 Okay so the Great Pandemic of a life time hits and just before the Great American Shut-in, my computer dies, so I ordered a new one using the Wife's computer and it was going to take a little time for it was to get here with everything going on. It gets here and it did WORK! So now I have to go through all these hoops to return it before the would refund my money so that I can order another one! Well it all happened, I was able to order the new one and it is finally Here!

I know I shouldn't make complaints about such a little thing as a screwed up computer, when may other folks love ones are dying, but I do need it to help with my effort to help other.

Just secured 100 surgery mask for our local small farm town hospital, I know it may not sound like much, but every effort helps plus working on getting reusable masks that can be washed and have replacement N95 Carbon Filters for our small police force and first responders.

I'm Back in the Saddle Again.

Okay I'm back again been down and out due to health reasons I don't mind growing old but it's these damn side effects that's killing me!

I'M BACK!!

Well I'm getting back behind the wheel again.

Had to take some time away, no matter what you are doing life seems to find away to run some monkey interferences; 

• Sister had to move in so I lost My Game Room and life adjustments
• My  Son-in-Law, a very good man passed away due to health issues.
• Plus I myself have been in and out of the Hospital getting my own health under control.
• I'm on leave from work with out pay due to health reasons. Thankful I have a small retirement coming in.

 Which gives me more time to be on here now!

So I'm starting to work on a new project. Thanks to "War in a Box" blog and his fantasy gaming in 15mm, I to will be starting a fantasy game which will be involving PIRATES!!

I grabbed a handful of pirates from Rebel Minis and his rule book "And a Bottle of Rum", to which I will be running as an RPG game I'm adding some enchanted items Some I'm making up and others I will barrow from other games.

I will be working on my other project that I have already post on here as well hopefully they will mostly tie all in together.

Life at Home

Been busy working around the house trying to get everything settled in, still unpacking boxes, redoing the living room walls and entrance way, planning  and gathering materials for a 12 foot wide built in bookcase at one end of the living room, sanding down and refinishing furniture, setting up a seedling growing station with grow lights to get ready for this years garden beds, and planning plant locations for permanent fruit plants and trees to include grapes.

So Yes! I have been a busy monkey around here!

So I haven't had much time for anything for most part for gaming but I do have some ideas and some plans in my head waiting to hit the paper and the tables.

So I hope to have something on here soon for gaming in the meantime keep rolling those bones!

Mourning Our Lost

I apologize for not posting anything lately We have been mourning our loss of a family member.

My Sister-in-Law, My best friend, My Sister at Heart, was one of the dearest people for me to have have in my life, lost her battle with cancer

She was a Wife, a mother of three, a sister, a best friend, someone you could turn to for very good advice or for a shoulder to cry on and a solider to boot U.S. Army Retired.

2nd Anniversary

Well we are all moved in and settling in now

As the wife and I enjoy our new found life with song, food and beer!

The music was great, we enjoy all kinds of music but when we are moving we love Old Country Music, Hank Williams, Johnny Horton, Johnny Cash, Willy Nelson and the list goes on!

I had a great time maybe a little to much of a good time!

Yet Another Year Gone and Another Year still ahead!

Will be some time still before things on here get rolling again still unpacking boxes and settling in.

 

Moving Day or Not!!

Who knew that looking for a house to buy would take so long to do. So I will be moving this coming week. No wonder why we have so many deserts the amount of paperwork that had to be signed and processed I'm sure it took a few trees to do.

Anyway all is NOT done as of yet, the Closing has been pushed back yet again, we started this roller coaster ride back in January but in the mean time I have to start my new job due to the transfer request had gone through and I have to start my new position this week. So I have to go ahead as the Advance Party!

Why because some Suit in a office in Southern California doesn't understand what a Frost Line is in Minnesota!

So it will be a while before I will be back on here, but once we get the closing done and we're settled into the new house, I will can get my gaming room set up somewhat I will be back on here in no time.

UPDATE 3/10/15; On the phone with our Realtor most of the day and made some headway, still have to head out in the morning the new job is just over two hours drive away and will have to stay in a motel nearby, GOOD NEWS is we may be closing on Friday!

A New Gaming Plan!

Well with the purchasing of a new house, Okay it's not a new house but it's new to Us. Means I have to review my gaming budget.

This will be my GAME ROOM!

The Bedroom count total is 3, Laundry Room/Mudroom, Full Basement, Detached Garage. New roof, new siding, new kitchen cabinets, new carpeting, and a new septic system and out building on 2 acres way out in the country. My Wife can now have her vegetable garden and chickens, if Mama ain't happy Nobody is happy! It's more then twice the size of our current living quarters.

And all for...... $68,000!!

In the Mean time;
With the cost of our new living arrangement, my plan is to get figures that can work in other gaming as well for now.
I really like the whole Zombie genera, movies, games and the likes. Zombie figures are just that zombies it's the survivors that are the real prize! many can be used in other games Sci-Fi games and Post Apocalypse games as well, and terrain works as the same.

With the new budget in place it will take longer for me to get around the the end plan but that's okay sometimes it the journey not the destination that's the fun!

Fear Not! I knew this day was coming and I thought out a lot of things that I can do and post even with a smaller budget, after all this is what this blog site is for GAMING ON A TIGHT BUDGET.

Back to the Drawing Board

Well the deal for the new house fell through, seems the title was not free and clear and had issues with it's title, so back to the hunt, so things are still on hold. This really sucks!!

I have ordered some new stuff and will be posting them as they come in. As far as painting and building goes that's all on hold a lot of stuff is packed up and ready to move.

So the new gaming room is on hold for now but it will come, I have plans for the decor of the room in my mind and can't wait to put it in to action!

The basic room will have 6" boards for molding at the top and bottom with 6" boards space "X" apart depending on room size "T's" will be cut and "X" holes drilled in to them, then mounted at  horizontal and vertical intersections of 6" boards then round top wood plugs will go in the holes then all will be painted to give the look of steel post and beams with rivets.

Life at Home

Just an update so that all will know I'm still a live and kicking.

OK so I will be starting a new job position at work by the end of the month, which will be day time hours and most weekends off. Yes I will be getting a life back!

Plus we should be moving at the end of the month or the first week of next month.

So currently my time is all ate up but only for a little time more

 I can't wait to get back to the things the gives me the most fun, GAMING!

Good News we can start to move in to our new house on the 1st of August

Just an Update

Work has been a bear here lately with not much time to do anything else, but some day dreaming, putting 10  plus hours in a day, not counting for travel time. The checks are looking good so I am able to get a large amounts of miniatures as I go but other then that nothing much else. The added side is I only have another 45 days of this schedule to go. it's all adding up for me to get my own Gaming Room!

Plus getting ready for the BIG MOVE!  I can't wait for that to be done as well, I'll have my own Gaming Room OH JOY!!

So things are getting packed up, when I'm not working, the plus is I'll be getting my own Gaming Room!

Oh did I mention after this is all said and done I'll be having my own Gaming Room.

One Year!!

One Year Anniversary, WOW!

Things started off a little slow but I feel I'm picking up the steam, and starting to get some really nice post on here. I truly hope I can do justice for everyone who has visited this blog.

For those who are following this blog I just want to say Thank You.

Postings will be a little slow for now due to work reasons, and a move to a new place is in the works with a bonus of having a gaming room with a work station, where I can be more productive!

Stay Tune! I have a lot of projects literally on the drawing board, and  I have lots of resources for them and more coming in for all of them

Projects on Hold for Awhile

Funny thing happen on the way to work today.

Stop me if you have heard this one before.

This deer on the side of the road, lurking in the bushes, spied my vehicle and didn't like the body style of it and took it upon itself to change the look of the current style to a style of which it approved of. I don't like it's taste in style very much sooo!

So projects that require funding will be on hold till I get this mess paid for, but in the mean time the ideas will keep coming forth and I will toss them out there


This would not have happen if I had a jet pack that we were all promised to have now so many years ago

Lived in the country for years and had to move to the cities to hit a deer, go figure!
