Cultist Figures Painted

I finished basing and now have painted the "Cultist" I have converted. They are going to work great in many games. I am looking forward to using them first off in "The Silver Bayonet" games.

The figures are all from Ral Partha "Sinners" set RPE Miniatures and games, The new Ral Partha Europe Online Store. Overall, they are great figures needing very little clean up and making the conversions was really easy.

The Whole Group

The Arm was Moved

Added New Arm with Sword

Filed the Hood Off

Moved the Head

Cult Leader

Hood was Added

Rest of the Figures Unchanged

Again, these are going to look great on the gaming table. I have just received the Maines sets that are of the Napoleonic era, and they are going to look awesome for Silver Bayonet games.

Small Ships in the Future

My thoughts of future space travels is that one would have to conserve space on the main ship. So the idea of smaller ships, hangered in the bays would also have to double as living quarters. If your going to have fighter bays and shuttle bays, you'll have to make the most use of them.

Fighters would have room for a bunk, space for personal stuff and bathroom facility. While have access to the main dining facility on the main ship. Rations could be stored as well in the fighter for longer missions. Fighters would also have their own long term life support system.

Shuttles would have room for more bunks and personal items with a kitchenet plus bathroom facility, to include it's long term life support system. Of course these crew would also have full access to facilities on the main ship as well.

Along with Bombers, Ship's Boat and Tugs. The list of small ships can go on.

So I thought I would scratch build just one ship idea of such as a fighter. It can be used on the table as a Line Of Sight obstacle or as play through terrain.

It took me the better part of the day to build it and few more hours of another day to paint it as well. I still want to add something to lift it up some and give it the effect of landing gear under it but for now I am very happy with it. There is space for four emergency jump sets if need to evacuate the ship, if some of the escape pods are damaged or room for emergency supplies. Of course either way it will be very tight quarters. However again it's main roll is a Fighter.

I haven't added flight numbers or nose art as of yet. I want to get some fine tip paint pens for that. Then when all is finished I will give this project a matte finish sealer.

As you can see it is still not much larger than present day crafts. Only if we can come up with better propulsion systems. and being in a hanger bay would not make much differences as for a hanger bay size.

Here is more of a look at the interior and concept.

Here is a look with a GZG figure in and about the Fighter.

You can see there is some room for ducking back into in case of hostile Boarders so a small firefight can happen with in the Fighter as well.

I have plans to make about four more. Two for each ship's hangers I want to build as a terrain item. I thought four would look good also in/on a spaceport, or even being on planet side of some new world  or checking on the happenings of a colony. With the ability being able to carry four additional personnel down four could easily cover a larger area.

Some New Terrain Painted

I made some Polymer Clay terrain pieces some time back and finally got around to painting some. These are just some random terrain items. However I do want to make some as points of interest later on. These are going to look really good on the Gaming Table and can be use in other genres of gaming.

I have some other items I wish to make copies of I am waiting for some reusable molding to come in the mail in the meantime.

Here is the first one.

Using purple and white side by side to make streaks then a black wash followed by white highlights.

This was it before.

Next up is..

Here I did blue and purple to form streaks.

Here's the before

I have to have some pointy crystals too.

and before..

I also have to have some vegetation too..

the before...

These were all with Scuply Clay on fender washers then baked as directed, and then painted. I placed a drop of each color mentioned side by side and just let the brush make the streaks. I then painted everything else around the base, the base and rocks. Ones dry I gave everything a black wash and let dry then finished with a white highlight on the crystals and other lighter tones on everything else. I sealed everything with a brush on acrylic sealer and then coated all the crystals with Mod Podge to give them a shine to them.

All in all they came out great. They will make for some duck and cover terrain on the table or even points of interest.

My Current Crew

Working a little at a time painting figures on and off  I came up with a small crew for gaming "Five Parsecs From Home, Salvage Crew". It's a mix bag of folks that I believe are going to do well in the game.

Game set up;

Combining two sets of rule or at lease the ideas of the two. Pinnacle Entertainment as a supplement set to rules "The Last Parsec: Jump Corp Guide to Interstellar Salvage" which can be found at https://www.drivethrurpg.com/ . The rules a subset of rules for "Last Parsec Core Rules" the supplement is about recovering massive ships adrift in deep dark space from massive battles long ago, dealing with a wide range of problems and hazard of salvaging such ships, to recovering survivors, running into killer robots already dismantling ships, to Slavers Ships, some hauling great riches some hazardous cargo.

With the rules from Nordic Weasel "Five Parsecs from Home Salvage Crew" a set of solo rules

Background Story;

The crew of the "Celestial Queen" all together.

The Great Galaxy War had just dwindled to an end, pretty much all sides basically ran out of rocks to throw at each other. All the boundary lines that all sides are using are the same lines that were of the Front Battle Lines.

The war was quick and massive, no one really knew what the reason for such a massive war was for. The little folks, the ones who actually did all the fighting for many of the government didn't know why, they were all just pushed into service as were any and all ships were pressed into service. Old ships pulled from old mothball fleets to salvage yards were quickly patched together just barely able to operate, refitted with some updated equipment, weapons and crew, rushed in to battle with the off chance they would get a few punches in. This same action was done on all sides for none of the governments thought that the time and cost of constructing new ships wasn't warranted for the battles were quick and fast and ever moving, loss of ship on all side were so great that the time for newer ships was just not possible if you were going to win.

Ships in these massive battle that were to greatly damaged or a drift were left behind as those that survived moved on to the next bigger battle, no recovery or rescue ships were dispatched to retrieve such ships, for many just could not spare ships for this task for all were needed in the ever shifting front lines. Space battles moved so quickly and so far apart with each side so desperate to win that many battles generally ended up with just one or two ships limping away just trying to save themselves little alone other ships in distress. It is plausible that many crew left behind on those ships may have died from failing life support or have been adrift so long they may have died from starvation, other ships may have drift into the gravitational pull of a planet or sun maybe even an asteroid and were destroyed on impact. Some in the battle areas may have drifted into each other causing further damage coming to their demised as metal on metal crushed upon each other, there could be ships out there working together pulling their resources just to survive making one large drifting habitat.

The new sectors and boundaries are setting up their governments many are launching their own search and rescue efforts for any and all ships, outposts and other facilities from all sides and to salvage as much of a those resources that they can of what is left, for resources are very very low, if none at all in some areas. Many civilian centers that would process or manufacture products of all kinds were destroyed or severely damaged. Special Offices are set up to sift through all the military orders to find official orders for ships and facilities to locate their last whereabouts. Not only were there ships sitting out there but there are other facilities out there as well observation outpost, communication  stations, supply depots to include medical stations as well, many at this point may be in dire straights at this time if not disfunctional, serverely damaged or destroyed. To add to the problem these facilities could be anywhere on asteroid, moons, planets of all kinds to even being their own station floating out there somewhere.

These ships, these SRSS (Search Rescue Salvage Ships) are set up roughly to render little medical aid and quarters if needed and to salvage as much of the ship as possible, if they can tow it back to their spaceport they will. If they can't tow it then they will leave a marking buoy to find it later on there return to salvage more of the ship till they can tow the rest home.

Now this may sound all fine and well, but with each ship or derelict encountered are new hazards such as crews still able to fight with their last and final punch maintaining the idea that they will be boarded and destroyed. Depending as to where ships are found such as planets or asteroids others could as well find new unknown creatures that has taken up residence in their new found homes. many other hazards could be engine sitting at a critical stage like a floating bomb from the crew last ditch effort to strike back, even weapons and booby traps could be laying about always standing sentry, may even be another salvage crew working it for the same government or another that are very much not willing to share in their spoils. Pirates and mercenaries as well working for anyone that willing to pay the right price.

This is the one such ship the "Celestial Queen" and her crew, out of the many out there doing what they can to recover anyone, everyone and everything. They are working out from a small space port and mining facility called "Styler's Point" on a very large planet named "Saharamanji".

Shipping Container Colony Part 2

In my earlier post I had the main part of the project done, I just had to finish it by adding some details and paint.

Well the painting is done and it is ready for the table now, and the looks of it I can use it for other gaming as well.

So here it is;

Thank You for taken a look, I have a few more to build in yet in different combinations, so check back and see.

What Not to Wear For the Great Apocalypse

What would be one of the worse ways to be taken out from this life, during the Zombie Apocalypse other then being taken down by a Zombie, would to be taken down by Star Trek Convention Attendee Zombies!

Okay so looking through a group of zombie figures that I have, I believe they are from Khurasan Miniatures and when I saw these four figures then it hit me Trekkie Zombies! Dressed in the style of the Original Series.

Why not!? Imagine a Star Trek Convention somewhere near you when the big out break comes and later on you are cornered on the street or a room and the zombies are all Trekkies!

Gotta have a Red Shirt!

A Captain James T. Kirk want a be torn shirt as well!

I can't leave the women out either

This one has clear coat on waiting for a matte finish.

So yeah my players could be taken out by Trekkie Zombies, and let face it funny and would just add more fun to the game, so anytime the game system throws in four zombies as on plays on you can bet these will be the four I'll throw into the game.

I was hoping to find a survivor in the right kind of shirt but no luck, the plan would have been to paint all the others in the blue and yellow shirts and he would have been the sole survivor in a red shirt!

On to the Next!

Hawaiian Shirt!? Yeah I got a guy in Hawaiian Shirts who was coming from or going to a Frat Party or Office Party where a Hawaiian Luau is the theme.

Oh yeah you can see him from a mile.
I have other color schemes if I find any others that have a right shirt.

They all need a few final touches but all of them are off to a great start, I have others that will be coming just wearing the wrong clothes on the wrong day. So keep checking in from time to time.

State Troopers

So I did the head swap earlier and finally got around to priming them and now I have them painted.

The paint scheme for them is based off of Minnesota State Troopers I think the came out really good myself and so here they are.

Little closer view.

They are going to be great on the table.

Thanks for looking.
