Scooby-Doo Team

Scooby-Doo and the Gang is coming together very well. I had some conversion work to do to make them all look right for their part.

Fred, I did a head swap and added a scarf and big collar around the neck and a little extra hair.

Daphne, I had to file a bit of a groove in her hair and added a little extra more. I add some Green Stuff to make her thigh high boots to look more like pants and then gave some regulars looking boots as well.

Velma, I added glasses, shoulder bag, and skirt, I then gave her high top socks and boots

Shaggy I did a head swap added some extra hair and a goatee, I had to shave the sleeves of the arms to give shaggy his short sleeves then added some Green Stuff to finish off the sleeves

Scooby-Doo I just had to add Green Stuff for his eyewear and added a vest with pouches

I plan to use them with "Five Klicks from the Zone Chapter 1" rules and have them working to survive in what area they are in and to move about across the wasteland.

15mm Post Apocalypse Scooby-Doo And Gang

So I got this idea from seeing the covers of "Apocalypse Scooby-Doo" Comic Books. The first thing was can i get some figures that would work close enough for my project. After looking around I found some figures that I can use, Rebel Minis "Apocalypse Survivalist" there are six poses in a set of twelve figures in this set so you get two of each but I only need to use four of the poses. Luckily I have a set on hand for me to look over as to which ones will be part of the Gang. After some time thinking which four, I came to my conclusion as to which ones they are.

So from left to right (photo from Rebel Minis) Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Daphne.  Now I need to make some changes, I want to make a couple of head swaps for Shaggy and Fred with some heads from Peter Pig I have the heads on hand but miss placed my pin vise to drill out the neck area to receive the stem for the new heads. I had to order a new set and currently waiting on the mail system. I also need to add some Green Stuff for the additional changes.

For a Scooby-Doo, Alternative Armies has a great figure for that in their "Armored Elf Beast Masters" set in the HOT Fantasy range. The bonus is you can just order the dogs themselves in a set of four.

Here I just need to add some Green Stuff for the head harness and add a great paint job. I am still debating as to whether or not to add a body harness with pouches.

Now we need a "Mystery Machine" Here I decided to go with Hot Wheels Baja Breaker Van

I have one on the way from Ebay, for under $5.00. It will need a Mystery Machine paint job Apocalypse style. Plus I am going to add additional items that one may have during an Apocalypse.

I am waiting for all things to come together to go further at this time. In the meantime I am working on some buildings for this project that I hope to post soon.

Burt Gummer!

Here is Burt Gummer!

So the voting took place at "The Miniatures Page" and the Tan and Red won!

So I started with Peter Pigs heads with baseball caps.

Oh yeah and this guy From Highlanders Studios.

So I lobbed of the head of poor "Roger" the gun toting Survivalist. Bore a hole where the neck should be the make sure I had enough stem of the new head to insert into the hole with super glue.

Add some paint and Ta Da  Burt Gummer!

Okay so it doesn't really look like Burt Gummer more like Nintendo's Mario or younger Jesse Ventura.

This is to show that you can change figures and with the right paint work you can make any character you want for the your gaming needs.

Have fun with your figures like I have, I hope to others and their work too.

Burt Gummer Vote

Okay so I'm getting ready to do a head swap with this figure,

With heads from Peter Pig that are a new item wearing baseball caps! Now the question is not whether  are not to do the head swap that's going to happen, but what color of cap to give him afterwards.

Which of the Atlanta Hawks ball caps do I go with?

Do I go white with the red lettering?

Or do I go with the tan with the red lettering from the original move!

And the there is the white cap with the red bill and red lettering?

So I have a week off from work coming up and to which I plan to do a lot of hobby work this being one of many. Myself, I'm leaning towards  the tan and red I'm just curious  as to others opinions .

State Troopers

Just a quick update;
So I did a head swap with six Rebel Minis's Police figures to have six State
Troopers, which would be enough for a really good road block on a highway setting or back up for Sheriff Department.

So here are the six figures, ready now for primer and paint.

When your turning around the bend and your headlights hit their road block. Oh I'm sooo Busted

So I hope one can see how a simple head swap can change a whole figure and give you other options, So now my duplicate figures now have added value, I have Police, State Troopers and my next post will have Sheriff Deputies.

Talking Heads

Okay so it's not the group from way back when.

But I'm talking about head swaps.

So I bought a set of Police Officers from Rebel Minis  http://www.rebelminis.com/index.html some time ago, which is great if you want a lot of just plain police officers but, NOoo not me I want a mix of law enforcement officers, other then just city types of police, I wanted a sheriff and some deputies and most of all some State Police or State Troopers as well,  I just don't want to fight off zombies in the city but options of doing so in a country setting as well, so after a long hunt I found some heads to swap out with.

Rebel Minis Police.

Peter Pig http://www.peterpig.co.uk/ has a whole section of mostly just heads, under "Heads and Odds", I ordered a few different sets, I bought a set of WWI Dough Boy with the campaign hats which will make up my state police. I also bought a set of ACW confederate wide brim hats, a little rework to the hats and they will make up for my sheriff and deputies.

WWI Dough Boys

First I have to remove the head off the figure that will be converted, I carefully removed the head, I scored along the neck with razor knife or Hobby knife then I use a large nail clipper to finish the job the score marks along the collar gave a place the the clippers cutting edges to rest in to make the cut.

Once the head is removed next I drilled a hole to receive the post of the new head,
I dry fit the new head to make sure it will fit, once I was happy with the new look I glued it in place, using Super Glue Gel.

And now I have a State Trooper.

Heck I could paint a couple as Game Wardens or Park Rangers as well.

Here is a look of both my Police Officer and State trooper side by side the head looks a little small in the side by side but I'm sure once the are all painted on the table on wouldn't notice that much of a change.

So I have a few more to go and paint job to boot then I will work on my Deputy Sheriff.

I have some cars that will get a State Trooper car paint job as well.

I hope this will help with giving one ideas to add to their games.
