Match Box Cars are your Friends.

Okay so they might not be in the right scale for 15mm figures and games but hey their close enough, okay so they are not the cars but the trucks and that's fine with me as well.

So on with the show our models standing in with our vehicles today are "Gus" and "Roger"

"Gus" our Tatoo Rocker friend for Rebel Minis

"Roger" our gun toting survivalist. from Highlanders Studios.

Street Sweeper great for cleaning up mess after the Apocalypse .

Small moving truck.

Nice News Van (Someone has to report what's going on! Right!)

Roach Coach.

The other side of the Roach Coach (break out the anti acids.)

Armored Bank Car (why would you try to rob one of these during the Apocalypse, I can see using one but fuel cost WOW!

Water Delivery Truck.

Stake Side Truck.

Cab over Truck (grabbed a few of these just have to build some trailers to go on the back of them.)

Snow Plow could be use to clear Zombies or bodies off the road.

Crew Cab VW could be a good hauler.

Cab over Dump Truck.

Ambulance of course.

Small Fire Truck.

Air Port Fire Truck.

Armor SWAT Vehicle.

This photo shows the gun shield on top.

Okay So this was a short show of some of the vehicles that I gathered over the winter, now many of these vehicle will make for great objectives for food, water, medical supplies, weapons, ammo or just plain old transportation. They Also make for just plain street or road clutter as well to block line of sight.

Okay one of the great things about all of these vehicles is they all cost just a Dollar, all that's really needed now is basing them and a good weathering job and a protective clear coat.

I have lots of other vehicles Military and Construction as well, they all will look good on the gaming table, and will give players many of ideas to explore.

Women Fighters!

For all of you Ladies out there and Gentlemen, I just received Female fighters from Peter Pig http://www.peterpig.co.uk/ under his AK47 Republic range in the Harden Militia sets. He has a great line of many figures as for these everyone needs female fighters.

Cost; 2.90 British Pounds,  about $4.44 in US Dollars not including the shipping cost, eight figures (8), a nice deal there. I ordered just one (1) set for a total of eight (8)

Shipping; Ten days from order to delivery, from the UK to the Midwest of the US. Now I did have a fair size order and will be writing about them later so breaking down shipping cost would be difficult. Minimum shipping would be for just one item would be 4.50 British Pounds about $6.89 in US. Dollars. Of course the more you order the better you fair on shipping.

Poses;  3 different poses, armed with AK47s
  • Standing Ready (3)
  • Advancing (3)
  • Firing (2)

Molding; Very little to no flash at all, some lite molding lines but very easy to clean up, bottom of the bases may need some lite filing or sanding before basing.

Game uses;
Post Apocalyptic Survivors/Gangs
Zombie Survivors
Insurgents
Street Gangs
Modern Pirates (Who don't need female Pirates)
Militias (from most anywhere around the world)

I mostly plan to use them in my Zombie games, but will also be great in my Twilight 2000 games as well, I'm really glad I found them and wanted to share this so other may obtain a few sets as well. As for the duplicates it will be tough to change much as to how they look to get a different look, one could file the head gear down some a dress it up some with Green Stuff for a full head of hair or add a knapsack. The most would be in the paint job!

If you don't have any female fighters in your group then I highly recommend getting yourself some!

More Armed Civilians

Okay so the last group of armed Civilians I did some time ago were from Old Glory UK. that set is armed with AK47s mostly and RPGs,

This group is from Peter Pig http://www.peterpig.co.uk/ and they are armed with M16s, which is great for western world game play, they are not actually civilians they are Professional Special Forces without head gear. but with the right paint job can look the part. They are from Peter Pig's AK47 Republic range (Africa during the 60s 70s and 80s) A lot of great stuff there in that range well worth a look.

Cost; 2.90 British Pounds, about $4.44 in US Dollars not including the shipping cost, eight figures (8), a nice deal. I ordered two sets for a total of sixteen figures (16).

Shipping; Put my order in and was notified when shipped ten days from notification to delivery, from the UK to the Midwest of the US. with most of the east coast hammered with snow and storms nice and fast.

Now I did have a fair size order and will be writing about them later so breaking down shipping cost would be difficult. minimum shipping would be for just one item would be 4.50 British Pounds about $6.89 in US. Dollars. Of course the more you order the better you fair on shipping.

Poses;  3 different poses, order 2 packs each pack had the same mix of poses.

  • Advancing (3)
  • Kneeling (2)
  • Signaling (3)

Molding; Almost no flash at all, some lite molding lines but very easy to clean up, bottom of the bases may need some lite filing or sanding before mounting on a base, bases on these are rather small difficult standing them up as is but basing will fix that.

Game uses;
Post Apocalyptic Survivors/Gangs
Zombie Survivors
Insurgents
Street Gangs
Modern Pirates
Militias (from most anywhere around the world)

They will make for great Survivors for almost any game of Zombies, Post Apocalyptic situation, or even a militia group as suggested above, which I plan to use them for as listed above in my gaming.

As for the duplicate figure I figure a few head swaps with head gear, Green Stuff or anything else one could add to help change the looks.

More Cars Blocking the Way

Toob Toys makes a selection of kids toy sets of all kinds. The vehicles set I have seen in other poeples' games and blogs, so figured I must give them a try for my games as well. I have seen that some of the vehicles do not work at all with 15mm but a few do, so here is my findings.

You can get sets of these from Amazon or Ebay between 10 to 12 Dollars or pick them up at Micheals craft store for about the same.

I'm only going to talk about those in the set that will work for 15mm gaming.

Okay so the Police Car, Pickup Truck, Mustang and Delivery Van are just the right size.

I really like the looks of these, the bodies seems to be of a rigid rubbery material, and the chassis as well. A good repaint would make them look better.

Here are some repainted from Welcome to Lazarus blog http://welcometolazarus.blogspot.com/

Photos are from Welcome to Lazarus

After seeing those I knew I had to have some myself, I compaired them to the 1/100 scale cars that I have and they will look good on the table.

I want to have more of the Police Car, Pickup Truck, and Delivery Truck. not sure if I would buy more of these sets just to have three vehicles out ot the set I'm leaning to just make molds of them and cast them. I want to have a few more Police cars and use the Delivery van and Pickup as support vehicles for the Police cars. I want a couple more Delivery vans for other uses UPS truck, Mail truck and other delivery trucks and what's wrong with having a handfull of pickup trucks.

But that all will have to wait for another day, will be moving the first of the month with any luck.

The Road is Blocked!

The Road is blocked by dozens of cars!

HO or 1/100 scale cars work well in 15mm range, and if you need a few cars for your game then this is the route one needs to go, You can get a very large number of HO Scale cars on Ebay, from 50 to 100 cars and vans from $15.00 to $20.00 more then enough to block your roads with traffic jams.

I found that Match Box Cars and Hot Wheels Cars were just to big, the Trucks seem okay and work well.

Plus at that cost you can simulate that some are damaged, in one form or another being plastic with some heat you can create the damage.

I bought a group of 50 for just under $15, and plan to buy more. You can see comparison pictures below with figures.

I have seen lots of Zombie games, Post Apocalyptic games and Modern games pictures posted here and there and only a very few seemed to have a lot of vehicles in them, in our day and age it's seems very hard to walk down a city street with coming across dozens of cars and I just what to replicate that look and feel.

Shown with Rebel Minis Civilian Figures

Plus nothing gets your pulse going like seeing your "Heroes" trying to get down a street crowded with cars slowing down their escape! That's right "Surviving the Concrete and Steel Jungle!"

Flash might a little bright OOPS!

City Traffic.

Traffic Jam.

Hard to get across the street during regular traffic problems now add zombies!

Easy to break down to three sections.

Body.

Glass

Chassis

You can see from the break down of the vehicle that one can make wrecks fairly easy. remove the glass and file down the tires and some paint you can have burned out vehicle

I hope this helps those still wondering if they should or not get a set or more, and help set the idea for some interesting tables as well, I would highly suggest getting some. I looking at getting more, Mini Vans and some other Vehicles.
