Cultist Conversion

I purchased "The Sinners" from Ral Partha Home (ralparthaeurope.co.uk) and they come in a set of 12 in basically two poses with a leader figure. I wanted a few more different poses then the main two poses. So out came the nippers, razor knife, sanding needles, super glue, files and Green Stuff

Here is the leader.

Here are the two basic poses in the set.

Putting thought to mind, I started off with my ideas having 11 figures to work with is good so if I mess one up is it okay it will end up being a dead cultist.

Here are conversions of one of the poses.

Original Pose

Made Bald Filing The Hood Off

Relocated The Head

Removed And Added New Arm With Weapon

Here are the other conversions of the other poses.

Original Pose

Arm Relocated

Added A Hood

I am looking forward to getting their base finished and painted to use them in many of games Horror, Pulp, Fantasy but, I very much looking forward to using them in "Silver Bayonet" games.

Welcome to Downtown (Update)

On an earlier post about HO Scale buildings, mostly about Plasticville HO Scale Buildings, I was cruising the local Goodwill Store when I spied a box of Guidancetown Building Set in HO Scale for only $5.00, figuring for $5.00 I couldn't go wrong getting these, if it doesn't work no big lost.

I got the box home and dived right in, seems that there is some parts missing but that's okay I could make 11 buildings and set up a small town, I don't like the style of the buildings but for the moment that's fine, it does confirm that HO Scale will work for my gaming needs and I can move forward with my ideas.

I have taken some comparison pictures of 15mm figures along with the buildings.

Here is a little layout of a small town on a cutting mat that's 24 inches by 35 inches.

Here is a small Diner or Convenience Store.

Here is a small House.

Here I have one that could be a small Store of sorts.

I really like the way this Figures look in comparison to the build's scale and I can't wait to get ahold of some more HO Scale buildings, I plan to have a fair size town for running Zombie games or Alien Invasion game not to forget giant Insect games as well. In addition I will get addition buildings to create  a Post Apocalyptic environment as well.

Welcome to Downtown

After some research online that is, I found out that HO Scale Buildings may work fairly well with 15mm figures in addition they can be inexpensive, then there are some that are really pricy too pricy for what I want to do. Plus there are loads of them on eBay and Amazon. Now of course I will dig into this further to insure they will work with 15mm! plus all the accessories as well. I will Post my findings as we go.

My intent if everything works out well, is to collect as much as I need, I'm going to start with a lot of Downtown stuff. I'm going to look at some of the Plasticville range of buildings. there are a lot of them and they are rather small in foot print size for the table, they are rather cheap as well you can get many of them between $5 and $25. Plus with some paint and additional details they should work just fine. Now I have seen where the "O" scale Plasticville building work rather nicely with 28mm.

  • Police Station
  • Fire Station
  • Supermarket
  • Hardware/Pharmacy
  • 5 & Dime Store
  • Post Office
  • Burger Joint
  • Ice Cream shop
  • Bank with Drivethru
  • City Hall
  • Church
  • Gas Station
  • Auto Repair Shop
  • Men's Store
  • Hobby and Toy Store
  • Hospital
  • Dry Goods Store
  • Ladies Store
  • Theater
  • Restaurant
  • Car Dealership
Which from this list will make for a great downtown! My understanding is there maybe a couple of other buildings for a downtown area that I did not listed but I'm still looking into it more as to which ones they may be.

Now there are other buildings to make this town even bigger from the Plasticville range as well. You have to have a place for all your town folk to live in. You can see the houses below in the first row the school house and gas station in the back.

  • Factory Building
  • Split Level Home
  • Cape Cod Home
  • Ranch Style home
  • Contemporary Home
  • Two Story Home
  • House Under Construction
  • Smaller Church
  • Motel with Pool
  • Barn with Silo
  • Farm Outbuildings
I also have the intention of looking at other Ho Scale Buildings as well,  for Main Street two story flat roof type of buildings to have a place for survivors to be able to retreat too or view the horror from as well.

There is a lot of options for buildings in the HO Scale range, that I think will work for 15mm figures, and the cost for many is very low and seems they would fill a table rather well that would give any game a lot to work with. You can also buy doubles, one for an intact building and with some work it's double as a damaged or destroyed building.

I'm looking forward to using them if things work out well in Zombie games, Pulp Adventures, Alien Invasions, fighting Giant Bug Infestations, Post Apocalypse Scenarios and even AVP (Alien vs Predator) and with a variety of building it will give your Player Characters Goals and Objectives to strive for or places to run from or run too, YES RUN VERY FAST!

Yes the Objectives can be fuel tanks or power stations, You have to have a power station! How else are you going to electrocute the Aliens or the Giant Bugs! Radio Station so one could warn the people of their pending DOOM!  A Trailer Park for Alien Invasions or where the crazy guy who lives there trying to warn you and others! Oh yes the possibilities are endless.

The Land of Dinosaurs

Okay I think this is another great find for gaming. cursing the store again this time Wal-Mart and this caught my eye and I then thought YES! These will be great for many types of games,

If you want to play a Jurassic Park, Land of the Lost, Lost world, or Mystery Island even Cave Man type games in 15mm scale these are the ticket!

You get a lot of Dinosaurs for just under $5 Dollars, 101 pieces mostly Dinosaurs with trees, plants, and some fencing. Yes they are plastic but with the proper prepping, washing, basing and priming before painting the will be great

I will be basing these monsters using the basing system that I have post earlier using Plexiglas as the base. Can't have them falling over every time your trying to out run them!

There are a couple that come in two sizes.

Pictures and comparison to figures.

I can wait to really get around to them and get them in the gaming but I have other project in line ahead of them.

So for those of you into Pulp Gaming I hope you find them very useful.

I received my first Pulp Figures from Brigade Games http://brigadegames.3dcartstores.com/ some short time ago, and just now getting around to posting about their 15mm figures. They are some great looking figures nice clean lines and details They should look really well on the gaming table.

New Ventures

I'm getting ready to dive into a new area of gaming for me "Pulp" gaming, you can find the rules and more here http://pulpalley.com/ , I have heard a lot of a gaming system called "Pulp Alley", to which you make leagues, Hero, Side Kick, Ally and Followers. Based on a point system for building your league plus special abilities.

Photo from "Pulp Alley"

I love the idea of playing out such plots you may have seem in some of your favorite movies or read in your favorite pulp adventure books. I'm also looking forward to building all kinds of terrain for it as well, from jungles to pyramids, looking for treasure or foiling the bad guys plans, or investigating things that go bump in the night.

The challenge for myself is there is a lot of stuff out there for those who play in the 28mm range for myself I will be playing it in the 15mm range and will be enjoying the hunt for all the figures and vehicles to be used in play. For which I will post every location i find for pulp gaming in the 15mm range here and compile a list here for those who may be interested.

My first set of miniatures for pulp gaming are coming from Brigade Games
http://brigadegames.3dcartstores.com/ they only have two set of figure in 15mm one set has eight figures and the other has four which I have both on the way as of the moment. I will post them when they come in.
