Crates by the tons!

Here we go, I have been checking out square wooden dowels again and I have come up with a easy way to fill up a whole warehouse full of crates in a couple of different sizes for just a few dollars. and when I say a few dollars how about for under $4.00

So the sizes are 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch, which from the math from one of the earlier post would make them for scale 2 feet, 3 feet and 4 feet tall and length varies in feet to what ever length you want them. So how many can you get from one 36 inch square wood dowel a LOT!!

If I were to cut the 1/4 inch dowel of 36 inches into 1/4 lenght, so it would be in 1/100 scale making them a 2 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot create, the math says 144 creates! but that number will be less because you have to minus wood lost due to cuts,  but let us staying on the math a 3/8 dowel broke down to 3x3x3 foot create would come out to 108, and 1/2 inch dowel broke down 4x4x4 foot create would be 72 with a grand total of 324 creates

As you can see from the three pictures above with just  a few cuts a hand full of creates are made.

Alright now you can have tons of cargo for your Pulp games warehouse or wharfs, or for your Sci-Fi games cargo hold or spaceport, supply point, for Post Apocalyptic game hasty barricades.

I just hope this will help fill your warehouse, ship or spacecraft have fun and the layouts are endless

Food Container Buildings

Food containers are a great item for building up a gaming board, or as a means of setting up the background for your players, there are many different containers out there of different sizes and shapes and many have a nice sci-fi feel to them as well.

There are a lot of Web sites that carry lots of building add ons doors, windows and roof items as well.

The containers posted here are from different sources;

 

                                                  This one was containing mushrooms.

           This one was containing meat from "Aldi's" would make for a great warehouse.

This one is also a meat container from "Aldi's" only larger and again would make for a great warehouse.

The "Aldi's ones I'm still thing of a way to make them open up so as to play through them as well as around them.

You could also check out HO Scale trains as well to dress up you buildings of scratch build items as well.

A good base for mounting your buildings on would be thin sheets of Plexiglass, it takes glues well thin and light weight resist warping and the corners will not bend.

I would also suggest filling the larger containers with foam or something to stiffen them up the roof's will flex a bit if not and could pop your details off during gaming and such.

As you can see I have quite the collection going on here and I have multiples of each one posted, I can fill a rather large table.

So now get out there eat well and play well.

Traveller's Nobles Ideas in 15mm Figures

Playing Nobles characters in Traveller can be great fun, but finding that right figure for the character can be hard to do. I would like for you to check out two different sites that I feel may have the answers to your need.

First up is The Ion Age site at http://www.theionage.com/  they have a range of figures the Prydain Army range many of the figures have helmets comparable to the old school Imperial Marines, a few have capes on which have a nice feel as a noble in battle armor, which would be great for those feudal battles between noble houses. It's just a couple pictures of what they have there, they have both male and female figures. I highly recommend them the detail on them is really great for their size. Up next is 15mm.co.uk site at http://www.15mm.co.uk/index.html here again they have in their Laserburn range, yet here again I feel the ones in capes would make great nobles, just a little more casual dress for cruising on ship or adventures they have both male and female figures the detail is nice and the range is large and the have a vehicle that sits well as an air raft.
