Scattered Terrain Objects

I wanted some scattered terrain objects, you know the smaller stuff of plants and rock and alike. I also wanted something different then the aquarium plants glue to chipboard or MDF.

So I got kicking around on YouTube and seen some of these craft video's of what some folks were doing with Polymer Clay and figured why not.

I had a small block of FIMO (White) for some other reason to which I can no long recall. I grabbed and handful of finder washer for a base and to hold steady when in storage on magnetic tape at the bottom of the tackle/craft boxes.

Using a Fender Washer, I used some clay for a base on the washer then just went from there. I created a few rock formations with crystals and a few more with plants. Not to sure of what kind of plant to make so I just winged it.

After making the few that I have, it was time to bake them so into the oven at 250 F for 30 Minutes, then take them out and waited until cool.

Crystals;

Plants;

And here are some with a GZG figure for scale comparison;

I tried to keep it close to what I wanted for 15mm but I am sure they could work for other scales too. Now I just have to paint them up and give them some sealant coats and their reading for gaming.

More Cardboard Terrain

My Cardboard Terrain is growing large now!

Needing some additional terrain to go along with the cardboard terrain that I have previously made. https://silo1313.blogspot.com/2017/09/my-terrain-continues.html  I needed some smaller ones to fill in areas to help limit access.

Still using all the same building construction technics as I have before. Layering as I go.

I did make a couple of larger pieces.

This one is of the start of an inside of a volcano I am still working on this one I don't know just how big it's going to be. There is going to be a lave fall plus a couple of pools of lava as well. You can see in the pictures that there is three entrances into the mouth of this volcano giving to a lot options as to how a game can play out.

This piece will work great for my other games as well Fantasy, Pulp, and Pirates!

They all still need to be covered and and finished they are shaping up very well I really like the idea of just being able to place a few pieces on the table and go. Now I will have more options plus a few more ideas have come to mind, that I can't wait to get started on as well.

My First Sculpture

My first attempt at sculpting with Green Stuff. I see a lack for creatures in the 15mm range, except for the fantasy. So I felt the need to fill that gap for myself.

So I bought some tools and some Green Stuff, I also bought some 1/4 inch washers that I also use for basing my figures so that what ever I make will stay within those boundaries.

I started off making the base on the washer and without a plan, it took me a little while and this is what I came up with;

And here compared with GZG 15mm figure.

I want a few more so I am hoping that if I get some Blue Stuff  press molding I can make a push mold, I know that the head and neck may be a problem but I will find a way to work that out.

Now I need to make a few sketches of other animals before I do more sculpting it's nice to have a a plan.
